Australia is a huge country made up of seven large states. Margaret River (near Perth) is as far from the Hunter Valley (near Sydney) as London is from Moscow, with corresponding diversity of climate and soil. Shiraz & Chardonnay are just the start in terms of wine styles – over 100 grape varieties are grown with variations in flavour between each region. There are 60 recognised wine regions, on the edge of deserts, the sides of snow-capped mountains and overlooking surf beaches, and being a long way from anywhere else, you often find the Aussies have created their own style.

Moondarra

Our Moondarra range of wines are exclusive to WaverleyTBS and are blended by our very own winemakers to suit the UK palate. The wines are consumer friendly, fruit driven wines that bring the best of Australia to the table at a price that everyone can afford. 
The name Moondarra is descended from Lake Moondarra, which is an artificial lake on the Leichhardt River, 16km downstream from the town of Mount Isa, which is located two hours east from Melbourne in the South Eastern part of Australia. Lake Moondarra provides the necessary water supply to the town and the adjacent Mount Isa mines.

Moondarra – Semillon / Sauvignon Blanc
The wine has a pale lemon colour and aromas of fresh citrus, combined with gooseberry and herbal extracts. Fresh, clean style with nice apple and citrus fruit flavours give this wine, besides good acidity, good structure and balance. Delicious in combination with light seafood dishes or to accompany a summer lunch on the terrace.

Moondarra – Chardonnay
This Chardonnay tastes like we like them best - Tropical fruit, highlighted by lively citrus, followed by a soft fresh finish. Go Ozzie and combine this Chardonnay with chicken or turkey with BBQ marinades made from honey and crushed spices.

Moondarra – Shiraz / Cabernet Sauvignon
The soft tones of cassis, red berries and peppers make this wine very approachable. The fruit combines beautiful with mature oak in the finish. Combine this wine with Beef & Mushroom or Steak & Ale pies with thick, rich pastry and you will have a lovely dinner.

The wine has an intense red colour. Aromas of pepper and cinnamon are tastefully balanced with plum and blackberry. Soft, full and round vanilla - caramel flavours are balanced by rich, ripe plums, blackberries and herbs, which creates a full and fruity wine. A great barbeque wine or a perfect companion to Moussaka and Lasagne.

One Tree Hill

The One Tree Hill range of wines are produced solely for the On-Trade, blended by our very own winemakers these fantastic fruit driven wines make easy drinking on their own and with food.

One Tree Hill – Semillon / Sauvignon Blanc
This classic blend has been an Aussie favourite for decades, and no wonder. It is intensely aromatic with great depth of flavours and lively acidity. Delicious in combination with light seafood dishes or to accompany a summer lunch on the terrace.

A restrained, fresh and slightly creamy, melon Chardonnay. It has some attractive, soft, fleshy pithy textures with a fine acid finish. Go Ozzie and combine this Chardonnay with chicken or turkey with BBQ marinades made from honey and crushed spices.
