California
California is the Blush champion of the world, and the New World home of Zinfandel. In the On-Trade California has 11% of the market. California has powerful, well-supported brands, producing fruit-forward, consumer-friendly wine styles and it has led the way in developing and capitalising on the most significant trend in wine in the past five years: the rise of rose.
We have developed our Californian list to include ‘Medium-dry’ and ‘Blush’ rose wines which are fruit-driven with a touch of sweetness and are massively popular with consumers. But we’ve also gone to great lengths to bring you the best of the rest of California too, varietals like Merlot, Chardonnay, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir offer fantastic value for money and are produced in styles that bear the hallmark of having been ‘Born in the USA’.
